Actress Rhea Chakraborty is set to return as a gang leader in Season 20 of MTV reality show Roadies, host Rannvijay Singha announced on Tuesday.
“She is back to defend the title, the reigning Champ. A true warrior of the modern era. Have seen you grow up since u were 17.. and you are unstoppable.. welcome to #roadiesxx @rhea_chakraborty,” Rannvijay wrote on Instagram alongside pictures with Rhea.
Rhea took to the comments section and wrote, “From watching you on roadies to being with you on the show! #dreamcometrue Donny bhai.” However, the actress’s return garnered mixed reactions from fans.
In Season 19 of Roadies, which premiered on MTV India on June 3 last year,
Vashu Jain from Rhea Chakraborty's gang won. The season was hosted by Sonu Sood and also featured gang leaders Prince Narula and Gautam Gulati. The season featured a fresh concept of new and ex-roadies competing against each other.
Prince Narula and Neha Dhupia are also set to join Rhea Chakraborty as gang leaders. However, Nikhil Chinapa, Karan Kundrra and Raftaar, who were anticipated by fans to return, will not be a part of the upcoming season.
Rannvijay also dropped a picture with Prince and Neha prior to the announcement of Rhea’s return. “Had to get between these two, coz we wanted to save the fireworks for #roadiesxx. Let’s gooooo… #teentigada,” the actor-host, who will return as Roadies host, captioned the photo.
The auditions for Roadies Season 20 will take place in Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Pune on October 13, 15, 18 and 20, respectively. The selection process will kick off in Delhi on October 13 at the Noida Indoor Stadium, followed by Chandigarh on October 15 at the Indradhanush Auditorium. It will continue at Hyderabad’s Surya The Global School on October 18 and conclude in Pune on October 20 at the Nishigandha Lawns & Convention Centre.
In the MTV reality show, contestants, known as Roadies, face a series of physical and mental challenges while travelling across different locations. Besides competing in tasks, they must navigate alliances, eliminations, and strategic gameplay to avoid being voted out. The show’s unique format, coupled with its intense tasks and high-stakes drama, has made it a cultural phenomenon in India, especially among youth.
