Singer-actress Selena Gomez seems to be living the emotions behind her 2011 hit Love You Like a Love Song in her relationship with American song producer Benny Blanco. As the couple take a step towards sealing their vows with their recent engagement, we take a look at their year-long romance in pictures.
Selena and Benny started dating in July 2023 around the former’s birthday. After dating rumours were rife about the couple, the 32-year-old singer-actor went public with her relationship in December last year. In response to fans on a celebrity news page on Instagram, which assumed that the duo might be dating, the Wizards of Waverly Place actress expressed her love for Benny. “He is my absolute everything in my heart,” she said, with another reply that read, “He has treated me better than any human being on this planet.”
The Only Murders in the Building star gave fans a glimpse of her heart-fluttering moments with Benny soon after their relationship went public. Wishing her loved one on his birthday in March this year, Selena wrote, “Happy birthday baby! Your emotional endurance, positive disposition, unbelievable talent (that blows me away), undeniable humor and loving, kind heart absolutely kill me. I love you @itsbennyblanco.” To make the day special, the couple spent a lazy day at home snuggled up between blankets, enjoyed a spinning teacup ride at an amusement park and a night out covered in cosy winter clothes.
The couple attended the New York Knicks’ basketball game against the Philadelphia 76ers in April. The lovebirds could not hide their affection for each other with Benny kissing Selena’s cheek during the match.
Dressed in comfy nightwear, Selena hugged Benny tightly while sharing a wholesome moment together. “Thank you for sharing your life with me today and everyday,” she captioned the pictures, which received heart-eyed emojis from Benny in the comment section.
Benny planted a kiss on Selena’s cheek which made her grin from ear to ear. In a recent interview with US-based entertainment portal The Hollywood Reporter, the Back To You singer gushed about Benny, saying, “I guess this is the safest I’ve ever felt in one, and I see a future with this person.”

In the past, Selena has collaborated with Benny on several projects, including the tracks Same Old Love, Kill Em With Kindness and Trust Nobody. Benny featured in the music video of I Can’t Get Enough where he sported a teddy bear costume. “I used to play a teddy bear in your music video and now I get to be urs in real life… happy bday bb ! I love u,” he wrote with a nod to their past collaboration.

Selena and Benny took on a Tim-Burton turn with their Alice in Wonderland look this Halloween. Selena, dressed as Alice, gave off gothic vibes in a gauzy blue-grey dress. Her blonde wig, styled in soft tresses with a black headband, complemented her smokey eyes. Benny, on the other hand, fully embraced the eccentricity of Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter.
