Following the teaser release of Karthi’s Japan and Mammootty’s Bazooka poster, the makers of several upcoming Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films dropped new trailers and teasers last week. Here’s a look.
Regina (Tamil)
Junglee Music Tamil shared the official teaser of its upcoming Tamil-language thriller film Regina. Written and directed by Domin Dsilva, it stars Sunaina, Nivas Adthitan, Rithu Manthra, Ananth Nag, Dhina, Gajaraj and Vivek Prasanna.
The one-minute-three-second-long teaser gives us glimpses of a bank robbery by a masked criminal followed by a car accident. It then introduces a free-spirited young woman Regina (Sunaina), who has a violent past and steamy affairs.
Swayambhu (Telugu)
Junglee Music Telugu unveiled the motion poster of the upcoming Telugu-language mythological film Swayambhu. Helmed by Bharat Krishnamachari, the film stars Karthikeya actor Nikhil Siddhartha in the lead role.
In the one-minute-seven-second-long motion poster, the title card reads, “Over a millennium ago, one man’s epic odyssey transformed an empire to start a golden period. The legendary warrior.” Filled with artworks of an ancient battle, the video introduces us to Nikhil Siddhartha as a warrior riding a horse with a spear and a shield in his hand.
Hadinelentu (Kannada)
A2 Music revealed the teaser of the upcoming Kannada-language social drama film Hadinelentu. Directed by Prithvi Konanur, the film features an ensemble cast of Sherlyn Bhosale, Neeraj Matthew, Rekha Kudligi, Bhavani Prakash, Ravi Hebballi, Sudha Belawadi and Nagendra Shaa.
The two-minute-12-second-long teaser shows rampant caste discrimination among educated people. A female student gets expelled from her college allegedly due to her caste after getting caught shooting an explicit video for her boyfriend. However, the boy, who leaked the video, doesn’t face any music.
Hadinelentu will hit the cinemas on June 23.
Pappa (Malayalam)
Saregama Malayalam released the official trailer of its upcoming Malayalam-language film Pappa. Written and directed by Shibu Andrews, it features Anil Anto, Sharol Sunny, Nyga Sanu and Jeevan Mathews.
The one-minute-49-second-long trailer follows a couple who have an adopted daughter. The child has a traumatic past, which forces her to run away from his current family and implicate her new father in a child abuse case.
