Actor Regan Aliyah is the latest addition to the cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Ironheart series.
The show follows Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne, who invents the most advanced suit of armour since Iron Man.
Thorne will be making her debut as Riri Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, set to hit theatres in November.
According to entertainment website Deadline, details about Aliyah's character are under wraps.
Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes are attached to direct Ironheart. Chinaka Hodge is the head writer.
The six-episode series, which will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar in India, is produced by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler's banner Proximity.
Actors Anthony Ramos, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, Shea Coulee and Zoe Terakes round out the cast.
Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman join Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis
Filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola has added actors Shia LaBeouf and Jason Schwartzman to the ensemble cast of his upcoming film Megalopolis.
According to entertainment outlet The Hollywood, the film already has actors Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne and Aubrey Plaza on board.
Veteran actor Talia Shire, Coppola's sister who also featured in the filmmaker’s critically-acclaimed The Godfather movies, has also joined the cast of the new film along with Grace VanderWaal, Kathryn Hunter and James Remar.
Coppola is directing the independently financed film, his passion project, from his own script.
The filmmaker has described the project as a contemporary drama in which “the fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius and conflicted love”.
The film, mounted on a budget just south of USD 100 million, will begin production later this year.
Jason Bateman to join Taron Egerton in Carry On
Acclaimed actor Jason Bateman is in negotiations to join Taron Egerton in the Netflix and Amblin action thriller Carry On.
Filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra is on board to direct the feature project. Dylan Clark will produce the film.
The thriller revolves around Ethan Kopek, a young TSA agent who gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveller to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight.
According to entertainment website Deadline, Bateman will be playing the mysterious traveller in the film.
The movie is the first production under Amblin's overall deal with Netflix, which was announced last year in June.
