Actress Raveena Tandon on Monday deleted an apology note she had shared on Instagram after being trolled for liking a post that criticised The Archies actors Agastya Nanda and Khushi Kapoor’s onscreen performance.

“Touch buttons and social media. A genuine mistake has been blown out of proportion,” the 49-year-old actress wrote on Instagram on Sunday. “The like was made in error and something that I was not even aware of that had been pressed by scrolling,” she further explained, adding that she sincerely apologises for any “inconvenience” that has been caused.

However, her apology post, which garnered both positive and negative reactions, was deleted on Monday morning.

The Archies, which premiered on Netflix on December 7, marks the acting debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya and Sridevi’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor. After the release of the film on the streamer, the young cast had to face severe criticism and trolling on social media.

The post that Raveena accidentally liked was an Instagram reel which showed a scene from the film featuring Agastya and Khushi. The video carried the text “Acting died here”.

Set in the hill station of Riverdale in 1964, The Archies is an Indian adaptation of the popular US comics series of the same name. Produced by Tiger Baby Films and Excel Entertainment, The Archies also stars Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Yuvraj Menda and Aditi Dot.
