The story of Ranjit Mallick’s new film, Aparajeo, which is running in theatres now, is about an honest lawyer Suvankar Sanyal (played by Mallick). He is a compassionate lawyer who has dedicated his life to assisting those who face injustice within the legal system. While awaiting the arrival of his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, tragedy strikes when his wife falls gravely ill. As his wife’s health deteriorates, Suvankar’s retirement becomes inevitable. However, an unexpected incident forces him to reevaluate his decision. A heartbroken elderly lady, deceived by her own children, is swindled out of her home and sent to an old-age home against her wishes. Suvankar, stirred by a sense of justice, takes up the old lady’s case and fights passionately in court to restore her dignity and reclaim her rightful place.
The film also stars the veteran Sabitri Chatterjee, Laboni Sarkar, Sumit Ganguly, the late Mrinal Mukherjee, Falguni Chatterjee, Sayan Banerjee, Orin, Gopal Talukdar and others.
“It’s a very emotional story. We have been getting a very good response. I am happy. It’s an honour to bring the nostalgia back with none other than Ranjit Mallick,” says director Nehal Dutta.
