Rani Mukerji-starrer Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway collected Rs 0.77 crore nett on Day 7 of its release, taking its total Week 1 earnings to Rs 10.46 crore nett, according to box office records.
The film, which released in over 500 screens on March 17, minted Rs 1.27 crore nett on the opening day in India and earned Rs 5.15 crore nett during its opening weekend.
Though the collections dipped on its first Monday to Rs 0.91 crore nett, the Ashima Chibber-directed legal family drama saw a rise in earnings over the next two days owing to festive holidays in some parts of the country. The film went on to earn Rs 1.09 crore nett and Rs 1.27 crore nett on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
Also starring Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta and Jim Sarbh in key roles, Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway has managed to gross Rs 18.45 crore worldwide. The film also beat Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan to become the Hindi film with the highest opening in Norway.
Inspired by the real-life struggle of Sagarika Chakraborty, Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway recounts the tale of an Indian immigrant mother’s fight against the Norwegian authorities to win back the custody of her children.
