Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji will play an immigrant Indian woman fighting for the custody of her child in Norway in the upcoming film Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway, set for a March 3, 2023 release in theatres, Zee Studios announced Friday on Twitter.
“Inspired by the true story of a mother who shook an entire nation with her courage and willpower to win back her children, #RaniMukerji’s #MrsChatterjeeVsNorway to release in cinemas on 3rd March 2023,” read the tweet.
Directed by Ashima Chibber, Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway is inspired by true events. The film recounts the story of an immigrant Indian woman’s battle against the Norwegian foster care system and local legal machinery to win back the custody of her children.
Produced by Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment, Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway marks Rani’s return to the big screen after more than a year. She was last seen alongside Saif Ali Khan in Bunty Aur Babli 2, which failed to draw audiences to theatres.
The 44-year-old had won critical acclaim for her performance as the gritty cop Shivani Roy in the 2019 crime thriller Mardaani 2.
