Randeep Hooda is set to reprise his role of Shankar Malik from Syed Ahmad Afzal’s Laal rang in a sequel of the 2016 film.
The sequel — Laal Rang 2: Khoon Chusva — will also see Randeep as a producer along with Panchali Chakraverty and Yogesh Rahar. Along with Randeep, Akshay Oberoi and Pia Bajpiee will also reprise their roles from the original movie. Syed Ahmad Afzal will helm the new film.
With printed shirts and Yamaha RX 100, Randeep’s Shankar, who runs an illegal blood bank, swept ladies off their feet in Laal Rang, which revolved around the illegal blood trade in India.
Currently on a career high with his recent Netflix series CAT, Randeep is still attached to the flamboyant character of Shankar. “The character is very close to my heart. Laal Rang stays relevant even after seven years and has a dedicated fanbase. That’s why I have decided to embark on this new journey as a producer”
Director Syed Ahmed Afzal, who is still basking in the success of MX Player web series Shiksha Mandal, said they were extremely excited about the new sequel. “The sequel will be darker, meaner and violent. And yet it’ll not be without some really funny moments.”
