Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal has trumped Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur by selling over 2 lakh tickets through advance bookings against the latter’s 18,000 tickets in the past 24 hours, as per records with box office data collection platform Sacnilk.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed Animal and Meghna Gulzar’s directorial Sam Bahadur are set to clash at the box office on December 1.
Despite its 'A' certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the advance booking for Animal kicked off to a phenomenal response on Sunday. Nearly 95,000 tickets for the film were sold for Day 1 on BookMyShow alone.
Leading the pack in the pre-sales arena are states like Delhi, Maharashtra, and Telangana. Other states such as Karnataka and West Bengal are also actively participating in the advance booking.
Sam Bahadur, which has managed to secure over 18,000 tickets for Day 1, is centered around the life of India's first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and his pivotal role in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war and the liberation of Bangladesh. The film sold 7,500 tickets on BookMyShow.
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, Animal also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles. Meanwhile the ensemble cast of Sam Bahadur includes Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Neeraj Kabi.
