After Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan, Ranbir Kapoor's Animal has become the third Bollywood film to have crossed the Rs 900-crore mark worldwide in 2023, reports industry-tracker Sacnilk.
The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has achieved the milestone on the 39th day of its release on Monday. Its impressive global earnings have now positioned it as the ninth Indian movie to join the ranks of cinematic giants like Dangal, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, Jawan, Pathaan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Secret Superstar.
Animal has also emerged as the fifth film ever to breach the Rs 500-crore mark in the Hindi language domestically. The exclusive club includes blockbusters like Baahubali 2, Pathaan, Gadar 2 and Jawan. The action-packed drama is now setting its sights on surpassing the record set by Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan with a targeted net collection of Rs 550 crore in all versions across India.
Also featuring Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Tripti Dimri, the actioner revolves around Ranvijay (Ranbir Kapoor) whose relentless quest for his father's love leads him on a chilling killing spree.
The makers of Animal are now offering the film’s tickets at a flat price of Rs 100. “Watch your favourite blockbuster, now just at Rs. 100,” mentioned the official handle of the film on X alongside a poster of the film on January 8.
