Actor Ranbir Kapoor yesterday visited Kolkata to promote his upcoming film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar and participated in a cricket match at Eden Gardens alongside former Indian cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly.
Donning an all-black look, Ranbir captained Makkar XI against Sourav’s Jhoothi XI in the U-20 match. Fans from across the city gathered to watch the actor play with Kolkata’s favourite cricketer.
Ranbir’s team chose to bat against Sourav’s team after winning the toss and went on to win the match. Photos and videos of the two talking to each other and playing have been doing rounds on social media.
Earlier, Ranbir was asked at a press meet whether he was approached to play Sourav Ganguly in the latter’s biopic. The actor, however, said that he had not been offered that role and also confirmed that he was working on the late singer-actor Kishore Kumar’s birthday.
Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, also starring Shraddha Kapoor and Anubhav Singh Bassi, is set to release worldwide on March 8. Dimple Kapadia will also play a pivotal role in the movie.
