Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (TJMM) has joined the Rs 100-crore club by raking in Rs 13.2 crore nett at the domestic box office on its second weekend, box office records highlighted on Monday.
The total collection of the Luv Ranjan-directed romantic comedy, which released on March 8, now stands at Rs 109.58 crore. The film revolves around Mikki (Ranbir) and Tinni (Shraddha) who fall in love with each other during a trip to Spain. However, Mikki’s world turns upside-down when Tinni decides to end the relationship.
Meanwhile, the Kannada-language period action film Kabzaa, starring Upendra and Kiccha Sudeep, earned Rs 11.55 crore across all Indian languages, taking its total collection to Rs 20.60 crore, according to box office records.
Directed by R. Chandru, Kabzaa explores the underworld of pre-independent India. The film also features an ensemble cast of Shiva Rajkumar, Shriya Saran, Sudha, Murali Sharma, Nawab Shah and Suneel Puranik.
Zachary Levi and Helen Mirren-starrer superhero film Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ and Rani Mukerji’s Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway also had a decent run over the weekend in Indian theatres.
DC Studios’ Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ earned Rs 6.92 crore in India, while Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway managed to add Rs 5.26 crore nett to its collection over the last weekend.
Ashima Chhiber’s legal drama Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway revolves around an Indian immigrant mother in Norway who fights a long and arduous legal battle against the entire nation to win back the custody of her children. The film also marks Bengali actor Anirban Bhattacharya’s Hindi feature debut.
Comedian Kapil Sharma-starrer Zwigato continued its poor run with a collection of Rs 1.2 crore over the weekend.
