Director-screenwriter Ram Gopal Varma hailed Allu Arjun as India’s “biggest star”, shortly after the actor’s much-awaited sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule hit screens today.
“ALLU is MEGA to the power of OMEGA for creating a BOX OFFICE MANIA @alluarjun is without doubt the BIGGEST and MEGAAAEST STAR of INDIA in 101 YEARS since 1913 the year the 1st film was made in INDIA,” reads Varma’s post on X.
The 62-year-old filmmaker also lauded Allu’s latest release in a separate post. “Hey @alluarjun. #Pushpa2 is not WILD FIRE ...It’s WORLD FIRE,” he wrote.

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to Allu’s 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise.
Pushpa 2 follows sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj’s exploits after he gains control of the racket. Allu Arjun’s titular character operates at a global level in the sequel.
Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil return in Pushpa 2 as Srivalli and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, respectively.
The film has already minted over Rs 63 crore at the domestic box-office since its release. A sequence from Pushpa 2, featuring a sari-clad Allu Arjun, has gone viral on social media.
The scene honours the Sammakka Saralamma Jaathara, a festival celebrated in Telangana to honour tribal goddesses. This four-day festival draws millions of devotees each year.
Director Atlee also took to X on Thursday to share a still from the scene. “This Frame #AlluArjun #Pushpa2,” he captioned his post on X.
Sreeleela’s much-talked-about dance number Kissik is another high point of the film.
Pushpa 2 has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The music has been scored by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek.
