Veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar’s comeback film Aamar Boss, directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, will be screened under the Indian Panorama section at the 55th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, the makers announced on Thursday.
Also featuring Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Srabanti Chatterjee, the film revolves around Rakhee’s character, who takes the reins of a corporate office. The film marks Rakhee’s return to acting after a 21-year hiatus.
This is the second film of production house Windows Production to be selected in this category of IFFI. The first film was Ritabhari Chakraborty-starrer Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti (2020).
Rakhee’s last film was Rituparno Ghosh-directed Shubho Mahurat (2003). She will also be seen in a Bengali film titled Nirban.
IFFI will be held in Goa from November 20 to 28 this year. The opening film of Indian Panorama for 2024 is Randeep Hooda’s Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. The festival will showcase 25 feature films with five films from mainstream cinema and 20 non-feature films.
Other Bengali films selected for the Indian Panorama section are Soukarya Ghosal’s Bhootpori and Saurav Palodhi’s Onko Ki Kothin. Subhadeep Biswas’s Monihara has been selected among the non-feature films.
