Actor Rajkummar Rao has dropped behind-the-scenes pictures of him dressed as a woman on the sets of Amar Kaushik’s latest horror comedy Stree 2 for a sequence that did not make it to the final cut.

The pictures show the actor clad in a shimmery red top, a purple skirt and a sequined jacket. Rajkummar also sports a wig and a pair of strappy sandals.

“#Stree2 One of my favourite scenes from the film which didn’t make it to the Final Cut. Kya aap log dekhna chahte hain ye scene film mein? Aap sab batao? (Would you like to watch the deleted scene. Let me know)?” wrote Rajkummar alongside the pictures on Instagram on Tuesday.

Actresses Shraddha Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Triptii Dimri, Nimrat Kaur and Huma Qureshi expressed their desire to watch the deleted scene.

“Yes!!! Vicky please daal do do do do lo lo lo lo lo,” commented Shraddha, mimicking a scene from the movie. “Have to watch this – Now,” wrote Bhumi and Triptii wrote, “Hahahaha killing it.” “Hahaha Release the #stree2deletedscene,” read Huma’s comment on the post.

Stree 2, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Pankaj Tripathi, is set in Madhya Pradesh's Chanderi and follows the story of a headless monster named Sirkata who kidnaps girls in the village.

Rajkummar reprises his role as Vicky from the original film. He plays an integral role in helping Shraddha’s Stree and Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya defeat Sirkata.

The sequel also features Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee in key roles, with cameo appearances by Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia. Produced under the banner of Maddock Films, Stree 2 is backed by Dinesh Vijan and Jio Studios.

According to industry data-tracking site Sacnilk, Stree 2 has garnered over Rs 414 crore at the domestic box office since its release on August 15.

The original 2018 film recounted how Vicky stopped the spirit of Stree by chopping off her braid.

On the work front, Rajkummar will next be seen opposite Triptii Dimri in the 1990s-set film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
