Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Stree 2 zooms past Rs 250-crore mark in India

The Amar Kaushik-helmed horror comedy film, featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, has minted Rs 269.2 crore nett in India so far

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer horror comedy Stree 2 crossed the Rs 250-crore mark at the domestic box office on the sixth day of its theatrical run, collecting a total of Rs 269.2 crore nett in India, according to latest trade figures out on Wednesday.

The Amar Kaushik-helmed film, which hit theatres on August 15, minted Rs 9.40 crore nett from its preview shows, followed by Rs 55.40 crore nett on its opening day. It went on to add Rs 35.30 crore nett to its collections on Friday.

A part of the Maddock Films’ supernatural universe, Stree 2 had a blockbuster weekend, minting Rs 45.70 crore nett on Saturday, followed by Rs 58.20 crore nett on Sunday. Holiday due to Raksha Bandhan boosted the film’s collections on Monday, as Stree 2 raked in Rs 38.4 crore nett on day five.

With another Rs 26.80 crore nett on Tuesday, the domestic collections of Stree 2 reached Rs 269.2 crore nett.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar-led Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham-starrer Vedaa, which released on the same day as Stree 2, are struggling at the box office. Both the films are yet to cross the Rs 20-crore mark in India.

Khel Khel Mein garnered Rs 5.05 crore nett on its first day but the collections went downhill thereafter. The Mudassar Aziz-helmed comedy minted Rs 2.05 crore nett on day two, followed by Rs 6.95 crore nett over the weekend. On Monday, the film raked in Rs 2 crore nett and an additional Rs 1.10 crore nett on Tuesday, bringing its total net box office collection in India to Rs 17.15 crore nett.

Nikkhil Advani-helmed Vedaa opened with Rs 6.3 crore nett on its first day, followed by Rs 1.8 crore nett on day two. It earned Rs 5.9 crore nett over the weekend, followed by Rs 2.1 crore nett during the weekdays. The total domestic box office collection for Vedaa stands at Rs 16.10 crore nett so far.
