T-Series on Thursday released the trailer of crime thriller HIT- The First Case, starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra. The film will hit theatres on July 15.
The two-minute-34-second trailer gives a glimpse of an investigation carried out by Vikram, a cop played by Rajkummar Rao. Vikram, who appears to be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), has to battle with his volatile emotions and other mental health concerns while trying to crack an abduction case. Amidst his struggle with the case, his love interest Neha, essayed by Sanya, goes missing. Vikram must now find Neha and nab the culprits.
HIT- The First Case is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name. The 2020 film starred Vishwak Sen as police officer Vikram Rudraju and Ruhani Sharma as Neha. It was directed by Sailesh Kolanu and produced by Prashanti Tipirneni. While the Hindi remake’s release is scheduled next month, the Telugu sequel titled HIT-The Second Case is set to release on July 29.
Sailesh, who is also at the helm of the Hindi remake of the film, attended the trailer launch along with producers Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar and Kuldeep Rathore in Mumbai on Thursday. Rajkummar and Sanya were also present at the promotional event at City Mall in Andheri, Mumbai.
Rajkummar reportedly flew down from his honeymoon for the trailer launch. He shared that since the film was important to him, he had returned for the event and that he would be going back to his vacation after the launch.
HIT- The First Case is Rajkummar’s second outing as a police officer. He was seen donning the khaki uniform in the movie Badhai Do where he starred opposite Bhumi Pednekar. His role as an officer in HIT- The First Case is set to be different from the comic yet poignant role he played in Badhai Do.
This will be the second movie in which Sanya and Rajkummar star together, the first one being Anurag Basu’s 2020 release Ludo.
