Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s Mr. & Mrs. Mahi mints nearly Rs 25 crore in first week

The Sharan Sharma-helmed sports drama also features Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab and Rajesh Sharma in key roles

Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Mr. and Mrs. Mahi amassed almost Rs 25 crore nett at the domestic box office by the end of its first week in theatres, as per trade figures by industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk.

In order to keep the momentum going in the second week, makers Dharma Productions are offering tickets at a flat price of Rs 150 on Friday. “This Friday celebrate love, dreams and a perfect match with #MrAndMrsMahi!Book your tickets now,” the production house posted on X on Thursday.

Directed by Sharan Sharma, the sports drama had a decent start at the box office on Friday, earning Rs 6.85 crore nett. Despite a 32 per cent drop in collections on Saturday, bringing in Rs 4.65 crore nett, the film saw a rebound on Sunday, with earnings increasing to Rs 5.62 crore nett.

Mr. and Mrs. Mahi continued to perform well in the weekdays, collecting Rs 2.21 crore nett on Monday and Rs 1.86 crore nett on Tuesday. It earned Rs 1.90 crore nett on Wednesday followed by Rs 1.75 crore nett (early estimates) on Thursday, taking the total Week 1 earnings to Rs 24.84 crore nett.

Mr. and Mrs. Mahi revolves around a married couple who are passionate about cricket. The narrative follows Mahendra (Rajkummar) as he coaches his wife Mahima (Janhvi) to pursue a career as a professional cricket player. The film also features Kumud Mishra, Zarina Wahab, and Rajesh Sharma in key roles.

Meanwhile, Savi, starring Anil Kapoor and Divya Khosla, which released on the same day as Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, has garnered a total of Rs 7.02 crore nett in its first week. The jailbreak thriller directed by Abhinay Deo debuted with a collection of Rs 1.6 crore nett on its opening day, followed by Rs 1.8 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 1.9 crore nett on Sunday.

The collections dipped on Monday to Rs 0.5 crore nett. This was followed by earnings worth Rs 0.45 crore nett on Tuesday, Rs 0.4 crore nett on Wednesday and Rs 0.37 crore nett on Thursday.
