The title of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Thalaivar 171 will be revealed on April 22, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has announced on social media alongside a new character poster of the actor in a rugged yet stylish look.

“#Thalaivar171TitleReveal on April 22 ,” he wrote on X alongside the poster.

The poster showcases Rajinikanth in a rugged yet stylish avatar, sporting golden wrist-watches fashioned into handcuffs. The Jailer actor is seen standing against a backdrop resembling mechanical parts.

Thalaivar 171 marks the maiden collaboration between director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. The film, which commenced its journey with a grand announcement in September 2023, is being bankrolled by Sun Pictures.

Rajinikanth was last seen in his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s latest directorial venture Lal Salaam, which released in theatres in January. Lokesh Kanagaraj, on the other hand, delivered the blockbuster Leo in 2023, which was headlined by Vijay.
