Veteran actor Rajinikanth has wrapped shooting for the upcoming movie Vettaiyan, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, makers Lyca Productions announced on Monday alongside a picture from the sets.
“And it is a wrap for our Thalaivar! Superstar @rajinikanth completes filming his portion for Vettaiyan,” read the caption of their post on X (formerly Twitter).
In the picture, Rajinikanth, clad in a grey shirt and beige pants, can be seen accepting flowers from crew members as a gesture of appreciation.
Vettaiyan marks the on-screen reunion of Bachchan and Rajinikanth after the 1991 movie Hum.
On December 12, 2023, the production house shared the film's title teaser to mark Rajinikanth's 73rd birthday. Vettayiyan will be the actor’s 170th film.
Helmed by T.J. Gnanavel, Vettaiyan features an ensemble cast including Fahahdh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan. The film is reportedly slated for its theatrical release in October this year.
