Netflix series Guns & Gulaabs, led by Rajkumar Rao and Dulquer Salmaan, is returning for a second season, Netflix announced on Thursday with a short comic book-inspired teaser featuring the main characters from the show.

Giving a recap of the events of the first season, which also features Adarsh Gaurav and Gulshan Devaiah, the teaser carries forward the look and feel of the comedy crime thriller set in the 1990s.

“Khali haath nahi, Guns & Gulaabs ka naya season leke aaye hain. #GunsAndGulaabs Season 2 is coming only on Netflix!” wrote the streamer on X alongside the video.

Directed by the dynamic duo Raj & DK, the show narrates the tales of a lovestruck mechanic called Paana Tipu (played by Rajkummar Rao), a reluctant heir to a political strongman, Chhota Ganchi (Adarsh Gourav), an honest officer-turned-agent-of-chaos, Arjun Verma (Dulquer Salmaan), and a formidable killer known as 4-cut Atmaram (Gulshan Devaiah).

The video also addresses several questions left unanswered in the previous instalment, hinting that viewers might find answers to them in the upcoming season. Questions like “What will happen to the Ganchi empire?” “Will love bloom between Tipu and Chandralekha ( T. J. Bhanu)?” “Will Atmaram undergo a change of heart?” flash across the screen and they are some of the likely plot points for Season 2.

Guns & Gulaabs, which premiered in August 2023, had secured a spot on Netflix's Top 10 Global Non-English TV list post release.
