Keerthy Suresh’s Kayalvizhi debunks stereotypes associated with women by refusing to act “like a lady” in the trailer of Suman Kumar’s upcoming comedy Raghuthatha.

Dropped by production house Hombale Films on Wednesday, the two-minute-and-26-second-long trailer begins with Kayalvizhi shocking everyone with her ideas. When a fellow passenger (Ravindra Vijay) asks her why she is still unmarried, she quips, “You are seven years older than me, why aren’t you married yet?” Subsequent clips hint at the development of an unexpected romance between them.

Back at office, Kayalvizhi loses her temper when bank manager Ashish Gupta (Rajeev Ravindranathan) claims that her promotion would make him jealous.

Following escalating disorder and chaos, Kayalvizhi decides to take over. “It isn’t wrong to commit a minor sin to prevent a major wrong,” she says as she sets out on a quest for justice. However, she seems to be hiding a secret all the while.

“This is the hilarious story of a rebellious young woman, Kayalvizhi, who is forced to choose between principle and patriarchy,” reads the official synopsis of the film on IMDb.

Also starring Anandsami, Rajesh Balachandran, Aadhira Pandilakshmi and Manoj Kumar Kalaivanan, Raghuthatha is created by the makers of K.G.F and Kantara. The film is slated to hit theatres on August 15.
