Bride-to-be Radhika Merchant added a heartfelt touch to her mausalu ceremony outfit by wearing the same jewellery her mother Shaila Merchant wore during her own pre-wedding rituals, producer Rhea Kapoor said in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
“Beautiful Radhika at her mausalu in @manishmalhotra05 wearing the jewels her mom wore at her mausalu. Amazing work by my @shereenlovebug and @sanyakapoor,” Rhea wrote alongside an Instagram carousel featuring Radhika.
For her mausalu, a traditional ceremony held a few days before wedding in Gujarati customs, Radhika adorned her braid with her mother’s dramatic hair accessory.
Radhika looked stunning in a 35-metre rani pink bandhani lehenga designed by Manish Malhotra, featuring gold zari borders and embroidered with Navratri shlokas. She paired it with a koti blouse featuring detailed metallic threadwork and Swarovski tassels.
Sharing the pictures on Instagram, Manish wrote, “Gorgeous @radhmerch1610 starts her Wedding functions looking Stunning in a Custom Made Vibrant Bandini lehanga: Rai bandhej on a banarasi brocade in Rani pink classic. Embroidery in gold taar zardosi. Durga Maa shloka embroidered in the borders. 35 Mtrs of bandhej used to make the Ghagra. Blouse inspired by a vintage Koti. Styling @rheakapoor and @shereenlovebug @manishmalhotraworld.”
“Each panel of her 35-metre bandhani lehenga bridges tradition and celebrations with deep-rooted elegance,” the official Instagram page of Manish’s couture wrote.
Radhika, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, is set to tie the knot with Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
