Dhanush fights his way through a criminal underworld, hacking and chopping people, in his quest to avenge the murder of his family in the trailer of his second directorial Raayan.
Dropped by the makers on Tuesday, the one-minute-49-second-long trailer begins with a shot of a man washing off the blood on Dhanush’s body. We see him taking on people in a bid to prove his superiority. We also see Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan’s characters in the trailer, which ends with a three-way showdown with Dhanush, SJ Suryah and Prakash Raj.
Also featuring Selvaraghavan, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Saravanan, Raayan is slated to hit theatres on July 26. While A.R. Rahman has composed the soundtrack for the movie, Om Prakash has worked with its cinematography.
“After his family is killed, a young man trains to avenge their murders. Seeking those responsible, his quest leads him through the criminal underworld,” reads the synopsis of the film on IMDb.
Raayan has been recently given an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for excessive use of violence and gore.
Dhanush was last seen in Arun Matheswaran’s Captain Miller, which released in theatres on January 12 in Hindi and on January 25 in Telugu. The film is currently available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
