Dhanush’s second directorial venture Raayan, which is slated to hit theatres on July 26, has been given an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), production house Sun Pictures announced on Tuesday alongside a gory poster of the film.
The poster shows Dhanush walking through a dark path covered with blood. “Blood is thicker than everything,” reads the tagline of the poster.
“#Raayan Certified 🅰 #Raayan in cinemas from July 26,” Sun Pictures captioned the poster shared on social media.
Last month, Dhanush had dropped fresh posters to announce that Raayan will hit theatres on July 26 instead of June 13. The posters featured Dhanush sporting a moustache and beard.
Apart from directing the film, Dhanush stars in the leading role. Initially titled D50, Raayan also features Nithya Menen, Sundeep Kishan, SJ Suryah and Kalidas Jayaram. While A.R. Rahman has composed the soundtrack for the movie, Om Prakash has worked with its cinematography.
Dhanush was last seen in Arun Matheswaran’s Captain Miller, which released in theatres on January 12 in Hindi and on January 25 in Telugu. The film is currently available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
The actor is also set to portray the role of Ilaiyaraaja in a biopic on the legendary music composer. The film is helmed by Arun Matheswaran.
