R. Madhavan looks intimidating with a creepy smile in his first-look character poster for the upcoming supernatural thriller Shaitaan, dropped by the makers on Tuesday.
The poster showcases a bearded Madhavan with kohl-smeared blue eyes and scars on forehead.
“Main Hoon #Shaitaan! Taking over cinemas on 8th March 2024,” the Tanu Weds Manu actor wrote on X alongside the poster.
Directed by Vikas Bahl, Shaitaan boasts a star-studded cast including Jyothika and Ajay Devgn. The supernatural film, promising spine-chilling thrills, has already generated a buzz with its recently released teaser featuring devil's symbols and motifs.
Shots of Ajay Devgn and Jyothika looking terrified add to the suspense, suggesting they might be facing an otherworldly force. Madhavan's sinister smile in one of the shots solidifies the speculation that he could be the formidable shaitaan (devil) in the narrative.
R. Madhavan was last seen in the Netflix series The Railway Men, based on the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy. Ajay Devgn had directed the actioner Bholaa last year, which he also headlined. Shaitaan marks Jyothika's return to Bollywood after 25 years. Having made her acting debut in Hindi with Doli Saja Ke Rakhna in 1997, Jyothika carved a niche for herself in the Tamil film industry.
