PVR INOX staff dressed like Manjulika at a recent screening of Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, shows a video shared by the actor on Saturday.
The reel shared on Instagram captures theatre staff in Manjulika costumes serving popcorn. “It’s the world of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and we are living in it. Aaj se Theatres mein PopCorn Chudael (witches) hi dengi,” Kartik wrote alongside the video.
As Kartik Aaryan-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 breaches the Rs 250-crore mark worldwide, the craze for Anees Bazmee’s latest horror comedy shows no signs of slowing down. The film recently opened to a warm response in Dubai.
Earlier today, Kartik shared a video that shows him singing and dancing to the film’s title track with fans at a Dubai theatre. “Dilli nai Dubai hai ye. #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 in Theatres,” wrote the 33-year-old actor alongside the clip on Instagram.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is set in Rakhtghat, a village in West Bengal where the ghost of Manjulika lies trapped in a mansion. A princess of the royal family, Manjulika was burned to death 200 years ago for killing her brother Devendranath, the crown prince. It is believed a member of the royal family will reincarnate to finish off Manjulika’s spirit. The current royals look upon Kartik, who reprises his role as Rooh Baba, as their saviour.
Also starring Triptii Dimri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 sparks sufficient intrigue with its two-Manjulika twist as both Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit deliver powerful performances.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released theatrically on November 1.
The original Bhool Bhulaiyaa film, released in 2007, focused on Avni Chaturvedi (Vidya), a woman grappling with dissociative identity disorder. The movie also starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel and Paresh Rawal in key roles. The next Bhool Bhulaiya movie, which featured Kiara Advani and Tabu alongside Kartik, revolved around an entrapped spirit seeking revenge. The film emerged as one of the highest-grossing hits of 2022 with a collection of Rs 266.88 crore.
