Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule has emerged as the fastest film to enter the Rs 1,000-crore club in India, joining S.S. Rajamouli's 2017 blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the only film to achieve the feat seven years ago.

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 has outperformed all previous challengers, including KGF: Chapter 2, which had come close to Baahubali's record with a staggering Rs 860 crore nett domestic collection. Pushpa 2 's India collection stands at Rs 1,004 crore nett across all languages, according to industry data-tracking platform Sacnilk.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Pushpa 2's success is its performance in the Hindi market. Just like Baahubali 2, over 50 per cent of the film’s collections have come from its dubbed Hindi version. According to Sacnilk, with an astonishing Rs 632 crore net from Hindi audiences alone, Pushpa 2 has now become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time and the first to breach the Rs 600-crore mark in Hindi language.

The Telugu version has also been a massive contributor, amassing Rs 298 crore nett. The Tamil-dubbed version follows with Rs 53 crore nett, while the Malayalam and Kannada versions have collectively contributed around Rs 21 crore nett.

Pushpa 2 is on the verge of becoming the highest-grossing film in India in terms of nett collections with Baahubali 2 standing at Rs 1,030 crore nett. However, in terms of gross earnings, Baahubali 2 retains the crown with over Rs 1,400 crore across all versions. Industry experts predict that Pushpa 2 is likely to outgross Baahubali 2 in the long run.

Meanwhile, Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King debuted in India on Friday with an opening day collection of Rs 10 crore nett in all languages. The English version earned Rs 4 crore nett, while the Hindi version fetched Rs 3 crore nett. The Telugu-dubbed version collected Rs 2 crore nett and the Tamil version contributed Rs 1 crore crore nett.
