Pushpa 2: The Rule, Hera Pheri 3, War 2, Housefull 5 and Border 2 are the most-awaited Hindi films to hit screens December onwards, according to a new report by Ormax Media published on Thursday.
“#OrmaxCinematix Most-awaited Hindi films, as on Oct 15, 2024 (only films releasing Dec 2024 onwards whose trailer has not released yet have been considered),” Ormax Media wrote alongside the list on Instagram.
Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule, which is slated to release on December 6, tops the list of highly-anticipated movies as reported on October 15.
Pushpa 2 is a sequel to Sukumar’s 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise, which emerged as a pan-India box-office success. Apart from Allu and Rashmika, Pushpa 2: The Rule also stars Fahadh Faasil in an important role. Written and directed by Sukumar, the film also features Dhanunjay, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Ajay Ghosh.
Hera Pheri 3 is the much-anticipated third instalment of the iconic Bollywood comedy franchise Hera Pheri, which began in 2000. Starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty in lead roles, Hera Pheri became a cult classic, with the first film emerging as a sleeper hit and earning around Rs 18 crores worldwide. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), grossed approximately Rs 70 crore globally.
Housefull 5 is set to bring back the franchise’s trademark mix of slapstick comedy, hilarious misunderstandings and grand sets. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film will bring back Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Sanjay Dutt. It will also feature fan-favourite stars from previous instalments and new faces like Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Nana Patekar, John Abraham, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez and Chunky Panday. Slated to release on June 6, 2025, Housefull 5 is currently in production.
War 2 is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The film, which is expected to get a release date next year, will continue the story of Hrithik’s character Major Kabir Dhaliwal.
Directed by Ayan Mukherji, War 2 also stars Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in important roles. The film is the sixth instalment in the YRF spy universe following Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019), Pathaan (2023) and Tiger 3 (2023).
Border 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the iconic 1997 war film Border, directed by J.P. Dutta. While Sunny Deol will reprise his role as Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri in the upcoming sequel, Varun Dhawan is set to play a valiant soldier. The film features an ensemble cast including Ahan Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, Puneet Issar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Rakhee, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee.
Helmed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 is slated to hit theatres on January 23, 2026.
