Bengali film star Prosenjit Chatterjee is going to make his OTT debut with Vikramaditya Motwane-helmed Hindi web series Jubilee, scheduled to stream on Prime Video from April 7, the streaming platform announced on Friday.
Prime Video shared a reel on Instagram to reveal the first look of the characters from the show. “A tale from the golden age of Indian cinema about everything between budding aspirations and glamorous stardom,” the streamer wrote in the caption.
Prosenjit sports a dapper look in the video with striped suits and cool shades, while Aditi Rao Hydari exudes the vibes of a yesteryear's heroine. Sunidhi Chauhan’s Babuji Bhole Bhale, reminiscent of a handful of Geeta Dutt classics from the 1950s, plays in the background, adding a vintage charm to the visuals of trams plying on the streets of Bombay, the Majestic Hotel and the Empire cinema.
Apart from Prosenjit and Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sidhant Gupta, Nandish Sandhu and Ram Kapoor play key roles in the show.
Jubilee chronicles the evolution of the Hindi film industry in a newly independent India and seeks to tell the stories that led to the birth of what would eventually be known as Bollywood. Motwane has co-created the show with Soumik Sen. Atul Sabharwal has written the screenplay and dialogue, while Amit Trivedi has scored the music for the series.
