In a first, two international titles — Justine Triet’s Anatomy of a Fall and Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest — have bagged nominations for the 2024 Producers Guild of America (PGA) Awards.

The PGA Awards lineup features several films that are familiar names in the race for the Academy Awards, to be held on March 10. Among the contenders for PGA awards are American Fiction, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Past Lives, and Poor Things.

However, the absence of the musical The Color Purple, the black-comedy May December, and the sports dramedy Air from the nominations have come as a shocker for many.

The 35th Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony, scheduled for February 25, will honour the outstanding achievements in both film and television. The industry will eagerly await the results as the winners at the PGA Awards often foreshadow the frontrunners for the Oscars.
