Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas posed for family portraits, aced bhangra steps and offered her blessings to younger brother Siddharth Chopra and his fiancee Neelam Upadhyaya during their pre-wedding ceremonies on August 23, shows a video she shared on Instagram on Monday.
"And they did it. With the blessings of their parents, friends, and families, on our dad’s birthday. Their hastakshar and ring ceremony," Priyanka wrote, noting that the ceremony marked her father Ashok Chopra’s 74th birth anniversary.
The video also features Priyanka’s mum Madhu Chopra and cousin Mannara Chopra. Siddharth and Neelam share a kiss in the video, which includes stills of the couple registering their marriage.
Later, Neelam shared more pictures from the ceremony on Instagram.
Siddharth embraced Neelam for a romantic photo. Neelam looked stunning in a pink-and-orange lehenga, while Siddharth wore an off-white sherwani suit.
According to media reports, Neelam and Siddharth were first seen together at Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in 2019. They were also spotted with Priyanka Chopra and her husband, singer Nick Jonas, at the Ambani's Holi party in 2020.
Neelam also posted several pictures with Priyanka from the event.
Priyanka raised the glamour quotient in an embroidered orange salwar suit at the ceremony.
A picture shows Priyanka embracing her sister-in-law, Neelam. Priyanka wore her hair in a bun and opted for subtle makeup to complete her look. Their mum, Madhu, wore a light blue salwar suit at the event.
Neelam is an actress and has appeared in a few Tamil and Telugu films. She made her acting debut in the Telugu film Mr. 7 in 2012. The following year, she starred in the 3D Telugu film Action 3D. Neelam then appeared in Tamil movies Unnodu Oru Naal in 2013 and Om Shanthi Om in 2015.
Priyanka bade adieu to Mumbai in the wee hours of Tuesday, sharing a video on her Instagram stories from inside a plane. “Alvida Mumbai,” said Priyanka in the video. “See you soon Mumbai,” read the caption to her post.
In a previous post, Priyanka mentioned that she would be heading to London for her next project.
On the work front, the 42-year-old actress has wrapped up shooting for her upcoming action film The Bluff, helmed by Frank Ewen Flowers. This project marks her second collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and AGBO, following the spy action series Citadel, which has already been renewed for a second season.
Priyanka is also set to star in Ilya Naishuller’s Heads of State alongside Idris Elba, John Cena, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root and Carla Gugino. Additionally, the actress is expected to be a part of Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa along with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
