Priyanka Chopra fell down on the red carpet at the premiere of Love Again in New York, but the paparazzi refused to capture the awkward moment, giving her time to get composed, the actress revealed in an interview with a US-based news site on May 9.
“I was wearing really high heels in this dress for it to look as tall as it did. And you know, a red carpet is full of press people — everyone’s taking pictures, fans, and I fell on the carpet, on my shoes. I fell down all the way to my butt. And I've never seen this happen in my 23-year career, everyone put their cameras down and they said ‘don’t worry about it Pri, take your time,’” the Citadel star recalled the moment.
Priyanka had worn a baby blue gown with a mermaid skirt and a massive bow at the back. The off-shoulder piece was paired with sky-high heels, which caused her to lose footing on the red carpet.
“I was mortified for a second but when I saw people do that, they said, ‘you are always so nice we got this,’ till I stood up and till now there’s no clip of me falling,” she said.
The actress was helped up by five people to stand up again, including her husband, Nick Jonas, who swooped in to help her out.
Priyanka currently has Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zara in the pipeline and will also be seen in the remaining upcoming episodes of Prime Video spy thriller series Citadel alongside Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci.
