Bollywood divas Priyanka Chopra, Kajol and Kareena Kapoor have joined the ‘very demure, very mindful’ trend on social media after TikTok content creator Jools Lebron’s video where she says the aforementioned words went viral.
The original video shared by Lebron shows the beauty influencer choosing a “demure” work outfit and opting for a “mindful” makeup for the day. The clip garnered over seven million views within minutes. Her follow-up video on how to be “demure” at work received more than 34 million views.
Priyanka, who will be next seen in Frank E. Flowers’ action thriller The Bluff, channeled her “very demure, very mindful” energy in a recent photoshoot which made her husband Nick Jonas gush over her in the comments. The Citadel actress looked gorgeous with kohl-rimmed eyes and messy hairdos in seven outfits designed by Savio Jon, Amit Aggarwal, Tarun Tahiliani, Varun Bahl, Falguni Shane Peacock and Re-Ceremonial and Ashdeen for the pictures.
Rocking a crisp white shirt with mom jeans, Kareena added a twist to the trend with her pout in chic mirror selfies, leaving her fans floored. “Pouting and being DEMURE,” The Buckingham Murders star captioned the pictures. “Stunnning as always,” a fan commented. “So cute Bebo,” another wrote.
A blue pinstriped blazer and trousers, wavy tresses and zero makeup was Kajol’s choice for her post. “Very Mindful, Very Demure #yeswecan #breakitlikeawoman,” the actress, who will be next seen in Do Patti alongside Kriti Sanon, wrote.
Karisma Kapoor, who recently made a comeback to acting with the Netflix film Murder Mubarak, lip-synced to Lebron’s viral audio and offered a glimpse of the set of a project she’s currently filming for. Indicating that her makeup is “mindful” and her yellow co-ord outfit is “demure” in the video, Karisma wrote, “Very Demure Very Mindful,” with the hashtag ‘on set shenanigans’.
Entrepreneur Mira Kapoor, married to Shahid Kapoor, also hopped on the trend and flaunted her dewy makeup and blue printed kurti set that she sported for a day at work. “Very demure, very mindful while I’m at work,” she captioned the clip.
Apart from Bollywood celebrities, the trend has also grabbed the attention of Hollywood stars like Jenna Ortega and Lindsay Lohan. Lohan added a playful spin to the trend in a video featuring her Freaky Friday 2 co-star Jamie Lee Curtis. While Lohan describes her straight hair as “demure”, Curtis referred to wearing a seatbelt as “mindful”. Ortega, on the other hand, dropped a set of pictures on her Instagram stories to teach her followers how to be demure.
