A Hindi-dubbed version of Japanese game show Takeshi’s Castle is set to stream on Prime Video from November 2, the streaming platform announced on Wednesday via a teaser that shows host Bhuvam Bam’s character Titu Mama being forced at gunpoint by Japanese gangsters to dub the show in Hindi.
The one-minute-29-second video shows comedian-actor Bhuvan’s Titu Mama character from BB ki Vines cracking jokes and dropping funny quips while interacting with customers at a footwear shop.
Titu Mama is soon interrupted by a Yakuza-esq group of black-suited, armed Japanese men who take him to Tokyo, where he is asked to dub Takeshi’s Castle in Hindi to repay the loan that he owes them. Bhuvan then continues to talk into the mic, with the scene cutting to the November 2 announcement of the show.
The game show started in 1986 and continued to air new episodes till 1990. Previously dubbed by Jaaved Jaffrey, the cult show will have Bhuvan replacing the popular commentator in the eight-episode series on Prime Video. The nostalgic reboot will bring back the challenges that the contestants have to overcome to take over the castle of Takeshi.
