After Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde, actress Mamitha Baiju has been roped in for Vijay’s final film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, the makers announced on social media on Wednesday.

The yet-to-be-titled H. Vinoth directorial marks Premalu actress Mamitha Baiju’s third Tamil film. The actress is known for her lead role in GV Prakash Kumar-starrer Rebel, directed by debutant Nikesh RS. She will also be seen in Vishnu Vishal’s next film, tentatively called VV21.

Thalapathy 69, slated to hit theatres in October 2025, is reportedly going to be Vijay’s last film before he ventures into politics. Vijay, who was last seen in Venkat Prabhu’s GOAT, launched his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in February and announced his plans to contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly polls

On October 1, the production house announced that Bollywood actor Bobby Deol will play the main antagonist in the film. It marks the second Tamil film of Bobby’s career following his Tamil cinema debut in Suriya-starrer Kanguva, slated to hit theatres on November 14.

Thalapathy 69 will mark Pooja Hegde’s second collaboration with Vijay after their 2022 film Beast. Soon after the announcement, the actress took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “Yasssssss! Hoping to create magic once again with the one and only Thalapathy @actorvijay (heart emoji).”

Venkat K Narayana will produce Thalapathy 69 under the banner of KVN Productions, while Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith N.K will serve as co-producers. Anirudh Ravichander has scored music for the film.
