Actor Prabhudeva has reunited with Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman for an upcoming movie, tentatively titled ARRPD6, 25 years after their last collaboration in Rajiv Menon’s 1997 romantic musical Minsara Kanavu that marked Kajol’s debut in Tamil cinema.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Prabhudeva recently shared a couple of concept posters for the film. The posters reveal that the film is directed by Manoj N. S. and A.R. Rahman has been roped in to compose the film’s music. The upcoming project also features Yogi Babu, Aju Varghese, and Arjun Ashokan in key roles.
Prabhudeva's iconic dance pose on the poster hints at a dance drama, similar to choreographer-filmmaker Remo D'Souza’s ABCD franchise. While the first instalment of the franchise featured Prabhudeva alongside Ganesh Acharya and Kay Kay Menon in the lead roles, the sequel starred Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor.
Produced by Manoj N S, Divya Manoj and Dr Praveen Elak, ARRPD6 will be released in five languages — Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. However, the release date has not been announced yet.
Earlier, Prabhudeva had worked with A.R. Rahman in the 1994 romantic thriller Kaadhalan, which also starred Nagma and Vadivelu.
Prabhu Deva was last seen in Yogaraj Bhat’s action drama Karataka Damanaka, where he shared screen space with Shiva Rajkumar, Priya Anand and Nishvika Naidu.
