Filmmaker Prashanth Neel, who will be collaborating for the first time with Baahubali star Prabhas on Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire, recently shared that the world of Khansaar seen in the movie was imagined before he came up with his period action drama KGF.
“I imagined the world of Khansaar before KGF came into being. At one point, when I was filming my first movie, I went to KGF and saw that there was a place like Khansaar,” he explained.
The director said he had always been captivated with the idea of showcasing a new world. “This comes from my father, who used to take me to watch movies that were only larger than life.”
“I am not too keen on making a movie in a very regular environment. I think I am just in the moment of the Ugramm; it's not something that I just look at in the permanent way of telling the cinema, but right now I feel that it's the perfect backdrop for Salaar and for the drama,” he added, mentioning how he has been creating his films since his directorial debut film Ugramm (2014).
The latest trailer of Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire gave snippets of Khansaar where the events of the movie takes place.
Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire is produced by Hombale Films, which has seen global success with the KGF franchise and Kantara. Also starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu, Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire will be released in theatres on December 22.
