Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD will arrive in cinemas on June 27, production house Vyjayanthi Movies announced on Instagram, sharing a fresh poster of the film on Saturday.
“All the forces come together for a better tomorrow on 27-06-2024,” the makers wrote alongside the poster featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan.
Initially scheduled to hit theatres on May 9, the sci-fi fantasy adventure’s release date has been reportedly pushed due to production delays.
Directed by Nag Ashwin Reddy, the upcoming dystopian fantasy-adventure film will feature Prabhas in superhero-like avatar Bhairava, who has descended to earth to protect the world from evil forces.
The film also stars Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan. A teaser video recently dropped by the makers shows the 81-year-old actor essaying the character of Ashwatthama, the immortal son of Drona from the Mahabharata.
“From the biggest battle of the previous Yuga, to the final battle of the present Yuga. Introducing the legendary @amitabhbachchan as immortal ‘ASHWATTHAMA’ from #Kalki2898AD,” production house Vyjayanthi Movies had written on Instagram, sharing the teaser video on April 21.
Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan also play key roles in the film.
Santhosh Narayanan serves as the music composer of Kalki 2898 AD, while the cinematography is done by Djordje Stojiljkovic.
