Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD crosses Rs 1,100-crore mark globally

The Nag Ashwin-helmed sci-fi epic featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone has minted Rs 623 crore in India so far

Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD breached the Rs 1,100-crore mark globally on the 29th day of its theatrical run, the makers announced on Thursday.

“𝐀 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐱 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞...1100 CRORES and counting… #Kalki2898AD continues its epic run into the 5th week,” the official handle of the film wrote on X alongside a poster of the film.

Kalki 2898 AD is the sixth Indian film of all time to achieve this milestone. The other films which crossed the Rs 1,100-crore mark in the past include Aamir Khan’s Dangal (Rs 2,024 crore), Prabhas’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1,810 crore), S.S. Rajamouli-helmed RRR (Rs 1,387 crore), Yash-starrer K.G.F. Chapter 2 (Rs 1,250 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 release Jawan (Rs 1,148 crore).

According to industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD has amassed Rs 623.85 crore nett in India so far. This includes Rs 414.85 crore nett in the first week and an additional Rs 128.5 crore nett in the second week, Rs 56.1 crore nett in the third week and Rs 24.4 crore nett in the fourth week.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Amy Virk-starrer Bad Newz, which released in theatres on July 19, has managed to rake in Rs 42.85 crore nett in its first week of theatrical run.
