Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, topped IMDb’s Most Popular Indian Movies and Web Series lists for 2024. Indian content released between January 1 and November 25, 2024, with a minimum IMDb user rating of five qualified to compete for the top spots on the list.
Stree 2, Amar Kaushik’s horror-comedy sequel starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, occupied the second spot on the list. Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, Tamil drama Maharaja ranked third. In Maharaja, Vijay Sethupathi led an ensemble cast that included Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natarajan Subramaniam.
Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Jyothika’s Shaitaan, a supernatural thriller directed by Vikas Bahl, featured at the fourth position, while Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter, a patriotic action drama directed by Siddharth Anand, finished fifth.
Manjummel Boys, a Malayalam movie by director Chidambaram, ranked sixth in IMDb’s list, while Kartik Aaryan-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was at seventh position. The Anees Bazmee-directed horror comedy sequel also starred Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri.
Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Karan Johar, Kill featured at the eighth rank in IMDb’s list. Starring Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, and Ashish Vidyarthi, the film earned praise for its gripping action sequences. Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, released during Diwali, finished ninth.
Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies, India’s official entry for the 97th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category, rounded off the list at the tenth position.
