Earlier, on Friday, Netflix India announced that Salaar, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, will land on the streamer at midnight. “It’s time to rev up your engines because Salaar is here to change the game. #Salaar is coming to Netflix in 12 hours in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada,” they wrote alongside a reel carrying action-filled scenes from the film.

The dystopian action-thriller made its OTT debut on Netflix in less than a month of its theatrical release on December 22 last year.

Set in the fictional dystopian city of Khansaar which has a 1000-year-old history of being invaded by goons “more dangerous than Mahmud of Ghazni and Genghis Khan”, Salaar revolves around the relationship between two friends-turned-foes Deva (Prabhas) and Varadha (Prithviraj),

Helmed by KGF director Prashanth Neel, Salaar marks Malayalam star Prithviraj’s Telugu debut. Also starring Eshwari Rao and Sriya Reddy, the film is produced under the banner of Hombale Films.

Salaar has emerged as the biggest opener of 2023, amassing Rs 95 crore in India on Day 1, beating blockbusters like Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan.
