Prabhas and Deepika Padukone-starrer Kalki 2898 AD will arrive in cinemas on May 9, announced the makers, alongside a new poster featuring the actor from the upcoming movie, on Friday.
“The story that ended 6000 years ago. Begins May 9th, 2024. The future unfolds,” wrote the production house Vyjayanthi Movies on Instagram, revealing the release date.
Prabhas, who is riding high on his Salaar success, is carrying a staff and wearing armour in the new poster, which also shows the rear end of an aerial object resembling a UFO.
Directed by Nag Ashwin Reddy, Kalki 2898 AD will feature the 44-year-old actor as a modern-day avatar who has descended to earth to protect the world from evil forces.
Touted as a dystopian mythological epic, the film also features Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani in important roles. Santhosh Narayanan serves as the music composer of the film, while the cinematography is done by Djordje Stojiljkovic.
The poster of the upcoming film was also shared by Prabhas and Bachchan as they revealed the exciting news to their fans. “The countdown to the future has begun,” wrote Prabhas in the caption.
