Yorgos Lanthimos’s Oscar-nominated film Poor Things is now available to rent on YouTube India and Google TV for Rs 690.
Inspired from Alasdair Grey’s eponymous novel, Poor Things is centred around the resurrection of a woman named Bella (Emma Stone), who is brought back to life through an unorthodox procedure that sees her brain replaced with that of her unborn child during the Victorian era.
Stone's compelling performance is complemented by the presence of veteran actor Willem Dafoe as the brilliant yet unconventional scientist responsible for Bella’s resurrection.
The ensemble cast of Poor Things also includes Mark Ruffalo as Duncan Wedderburn, Jerrod Carmichael as Harry Astley, Ramy Youssef as Max McCandless, Christopher Abbott as Alfie Blessington, Margaret Qualley, Kathryn Hunter, Suzy Bemba, and Wayne Brett.
Poor Things has emerged as a formidable contender at the 96th Academy Awards, boasting an impressive 11 nominations, including the coveted Best Picture category. The film has already garnered significant acclaim, securing five awards at the prestigious BAFTA Film Awards, including a Leading Actress BAFTA for Emma Stone.
