Actress Poonam Pandey, who made her Bollywood debut in 2013 with Amit Saxena’s Nasha opposite Shivam Patil, has died of cervical cancer, said a statement posted on her Instagram handle on Friday.
“This mourning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer,” the post mentioned.
The post also requested fans to allow those close to the actress some privacy at the moment. “In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”
In addition to movies like Malini & Co (2015) and The Journey of Karma (2018), Poonam had also appeared on a number of television shows including 2022’s Lock Upp.
Poonam had tied the knot with her long-term boyfriend Sam Bombay on September 1, 2020.
Poonam’s last post on Instagram was put up only four days back. In a reel shot on a cruiser in Goa, the 32-year-old actress was dressed in a white corset top and black leather pants. “White and black: the yin and yang that balance my life,” she had written in the caption.
