Tanya Maniktala’s gritty private investigator stumbles upon the mystery of a new virus outbreak while searching for the truth behind a hit-and-run case in the trailer of Debaloy Bhattacharya’s upcoming Prime Video thriller series PI Meena.
Dropped by the streamer on Tuesday, the two-minute-11-second-long trailer shows how private investigator Meenakshi Iyer (Tanya) sets out on a quest to unravel a conspiracy even after getting grilled by police officers. While investigating a hit-and-run case, Meena suspects foul play and discovers the victim’s connection with a mysterious virus outbreak in the city.
The trailer then cuts to Jisshu Sengupta’s Dr Andrew Rakhaw, who is the only medical practitioner able to save the lives of people down with the virus. It also shows how Tanya faces obstacles at home and outside in the course of her investigation — the young detective gets grilled by the police for her involvement in the case and her father also forbids her to work on the matter.
Towards the end of the trailer, Tanya confidently mentions to Parambrata Chatterji’s character that she is all set to use the oldest investigation technique — “shooting in the dark”.
Created by Arindam Mitra and directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya, PI Meena is slated to hit Prime Video India on November 3 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
