This romantic track from Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan-starrer Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023) tops the list of Arijit’s most popular songs on Spotify with over 10 crore plays. Written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and composed by Sachin-Jigar, Phir Aur Kya Chahiye is a reminder to preserve the love, joy and little things that matter in a relationship.

Kesariya (2022)

Kesariya from Brahmastra — starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan — emerged as the love anthem of 2022. Written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and composed by Pritam Chakraborty, it has over 38 crore plays on the music platform. Through Arijit’s soulful voice, Shiva (Ranbir) expresses his feelings to Isha (Alia), sharing how he wishes to spend the rest of his life with her.

Tum Kya Mile (2023)

This duet sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal for the Karan Johar-directed Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has been played over 3 crore times on Spotify in hardly two months. The romantic number — about two individuals whose lives have been transformed after meeting each other — carries the essence of good old Bollywood romance coupled with stunning visuals of Alia and Ranveer amidst the snow-capped mountains of Kashmir. Composed by Pritam and written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the song was touted as a tribute to the late filmmaker Yash Raj Chopra.

Agar Tum Saath Ho (2017)

The tussle between the heart and the mind while parting ways with a beloved finds its expression in Arijit and Alka Yagnik’s song Agar Tum Saath Ho. Written and composed by A.R. Rahman, the song has over 30 crore listeners. It brings out the spirit of the 2015 coming-of-age romantic drama Tamasha starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. In the film, Tara (Deepika) tries to redeem her love after rejecting her lover Ved (Ranbir) while the latter blurts hate and loses his mind after being jilted in love. With soft piano tunes combined with an indolent rhythm, the song is a powerful interpretation of the soul-shattering agony after a heartbreak.

What Jhumka? (2023)

Composed by Pritam and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, What Jhumka from Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is a homage to Asha Bhosle’s iconic song Jhumka Gira Re from the film Mera Saaya (1966). With peppy beats and catchy rap, Arijit and Jonita Gandhi’s song has found over 2 crore listeners on Spotify. The song tells the story of a boy and a girl who flirt with each other and bicker over a lost earring. Created solely as a dance track, What Jhumka is the kind of a song that you cannot resist grooving to.
