Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba, starring Taapse Pannu and Vikrant Massey, will premiere on Netflix India on August 9, announced the streamer on Monday, sharing a video featuring the lead actors.
Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill are set to play key roles in the sequel to 2021’s Haseen Dilruba, which featured Harshvardhan Rane in a pivotal role.
“9 August ki Haaseen shaam, Dilruba ke naam, Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba, is out on August 9, only on Netflix,” Netflix wrote alongside the video, hinting that the story of the upcoming film will pick up where the 2021 original left off.
Backed by Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series Films, Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba promises a whirlwind of romance, suspense and unexpected twists. It is written by Kanika Dhillon, who also penned the screenplay for the original movie.
Taapsee, Vikrant and Sunny had wrapped up the shooting for Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba in December last year. At the announcement event, Taapsee had said, “A sequel is like a continuation. In Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba ki Rani, there’s a bit more love, a bit more courage and a bit more craziness. Because what’s love without a little madness? Relationships are built in consciousness.”
Directed by Vinil Mathew, the filmmaker who also directed Haseen Dilruba, Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba will see Taapsee reprising the role of Rani Kashyap, while Vikrant will be back as Rishabh Saxena for Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba.
