Actress Rachel Zegler said she herself had voted for Keanu Reeves for The People’s Choice Awards 2024, responding to trolls who mocked her for winning the Action Movie Star award of the Year over iconic action figures like Tom Cruise, Keanu Reeves and Jason Momoa.
Zegler, who has been facing heat from fans of other actors in contention after she bagged the award for her performance in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, made the revelation in a post on X.
“if it makes you feel any better, i voted for keanu 🫶🏼,” she wrote on the microblogging site.
Sharing photos of her holding the People’s Choice Award, Zegler went on to thank everybody who watched and loved her movie. “You are the reason we get to make movies like this and continue suzanne’s stories in this medium. I am so grateful for you and for Lucy Gray. she has changed my life, as have all of you,” she wrote.
Mentioning that the movie is likely the last one for her in the Hunger Games franchise, the actress thanked everyone who had voted for her. “This is likely my last time representing our time in the hunger games and lucy gray as far as i know, and my heart aches with a deep love for what i get to do. i am not for everyone, as i have learned in the past year in particular, but i have felt embraced here. thank you.”
“If you took a moment to vote, thank you. and if you are simply a lover of these stories — as all of us in this film are— thank you. You are truly the reason we get to tell such awesome stories. thank you thank you thank you,” the West Side Story actress signed off.
